That was about as exciting of a first half as you could ask for. Brock Purdy’s first pass went for 27 yards. His second one went for 15 yards. He scrambled on his next throw and nearly completed an impressive throw to Jordan Mason before it was overturned. A drive that looked like it was going for an easy touchdown stalled and turned into a 49-yard field goal
The defense forced a three-and-out and then forced a fumble on its first two drives.
Squeezed in between that was a 12-play, 85-yard drive that took over seven minutes, including three explosive plays and a Jordan Mason touchdown. Mason capped off his preseason with an eight-carry, 42-yard performance.
There were two special teams touchdowns, which you may not see during a week in the regular season, let alone a preseason first half. The 49ers gave up a punt return, but Isaac Guerendo got it back on a kick return.
